CEBU, Philippines — Barangay tanods from 21 villages in Cebu City are set to receive their honoraria for the months of January and February today.

Each tanod is entitled to P4,000 honorarium per month.

The barangays include Punta Princesa, Lorega San Miguel, Basak Pardo, Tubunan, San Nicolas Proper, Ermita, Agsungot, Inayawan, Babag, Tag-bao, Bonbon, Sinsin, Paril, Capitol Site, Cambinocot, Quiot, Labangon, Talamban, Sambag 1, Tisa, and Banilad.

Garry Lao, head of the Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (COSAP), said today’s distribution is for the fourth batch of tanods.

The first distribution was on April 6, 2018 for the month of January for tanods from barangays Sirao, Agsungot, Guadalupe, Busay, Tejero, Buhisan and Labangon.

Only tanods who completed all the pertinent requirements needed in the processing and releasing of honorarium from the city government will get the stipend.

The barangay tanods are required to submit their daily time record (DTR), individual accomplishment report, authority to serve and consolidated report which will be made by their respective chief of tanod.

The authority to serve will be signed by the mayor signifying that the barangay tanod has undergone drug test facilitated by COSAP.

Since January this year, COSAP is the office tasked to process the payroll of the barangay tanods to avoid delays in the releasing of the honorarium. — Erly Ann Alcontin, CNU Interns/KBQ (FREEMAN)
