Talisay’s command center to start construction in Q1
CEBU, Philippines - The proposed Combo-building that Aboitiz Foundation will donate to Talisay City is expected to be constructed in the first quarter of this year.
Talisay City Engineer Gamaliel Vicente Jr. disclosed that he already submitted the program of works, which would be subject to finalization and approval of the Aboitiz Foundation.
“Naka-submit na ta ug program of works two weeks ago through Eric Ching sa Aboitiz Foundation. Ila nang i-evaluate ug i-finalize ang costing. After ma-check good to go nato,” he said.
Last year, representatives from Aboitiz Foundation, Mayor Eduardo Gullas and the department heads went to the area to inspect the proposed Combo-building the foundation will give to the city.
The building will house a police substation, the city disaster risk reduction council, the fire department, medics and other services. In essence, it will house the city’s command center.
Based on the program of works submitted, Vicente estimated around P13 million for the building's completion.
The proposed building will be built at the right side portion of the city's plaza, but is still within the vicinity of the City Hall.
It will have a total of 500 square meters, including the parking space.
“Ang kasabutan nila (between the mayor and Aboitiz) ang local government unit maoy mohimo sa program of works, which (would cost) P13 million basi sa estimated cost, prevailing prices nga igo sa two-story building,” he added. (FREEMAN NEWS)
