Minglanilla’s no.3 drug personality arrested
CEBU, Philippines - Minglanilla’s number 3 drug personality and two others who are new in the drugs business fell into the hands of police in a buy-bust operation Wednesday afternoon.
Silvino Satore Jr. 40, a resident of Barangay Calajoan, who is considered as the town’s top three high value target, was arrested in buy-bust operation at Barangay Vito and Sitio Tiber, Ward 1 Minglanilla Wednesday afternoon.
His alleged cohort, Raul Etienza, 42, of Barangay Vito, and who was a newly identified drug personality in the area was also arrested.
Recovered from their possession were six small packs of suspected shabu and P300 that was used as marked money.
Chief Inspector Dexter Calacar, who is the acting chief of the Minglanilla Police Station, said that it was difficult for them to immediately arrest Satore since he was moving from one place to another.
However, after months of putting him under surveillance, the police, through an informant, learned of his presence at Barangay Vito on that day.
Calacar added they will conduct further investigation into Satore’s operations and will trace his source of illegal drugs.
In a separate buy-bust operation, the police arrested Louie Montesclaros Janes, 40, a resident of Barangay Calajoan.
The police also confirmed that Janes was a newly identified drug personality that operates in Sitio Tiber, Barangay Ward 1, Minglanilla.
Recovered from his possession were three packs of suspected shabu, the P200 marked money and another P300 believed to be proceeds of his illegal drug trade.
Police said they will review their records for further background checking of the arrested suspects.
Meanwhile, the Minglanilla policemen have also arrested a senior citizen for possessing a powerful firearm.
Police operatives arrested Gomersendo Geonzon, 64, a resident of Ward 2 Minglanilla for possessing an Ingram sub-machine gun with serial number 674089, two pieces of magazine and eight bullets.
Calacar said that Geonzon failed to present a license to carry gun when the police caught him holding the firearm.
A case for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the illegal possession of firearm law will be filed against the suspect. (FREEMAN)
