Naga is most livable city in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines – The Cebu provincial government through its Our Cebu Program has awarded the City of Naga as the most livable city in the province.
The city also ranked second most outstanding local government unit in Cebu next to San Francisco, which bagged the first place.
The Mainit Elementary School in the City of Naga was also adjudged as the top performing school among all public schools in the province while Barangay Uling was among the top 15 performing barangays in Cebu. The awarding was done on December 21 at the Capitol Social Hall.
Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong thanked her constituents for their city's achievements. She said the recognition inspires her to continue to provide better and improved services to the people of Naga.
"Livable City is defined generally as a city applicable to live in and to raise a family, suitable, enjoyable wherein ang mga katawhan kay malipayon ang pagpuyo," she said.
Chiong said Our Cebu Program's basis in giving the recognition is the quality of the environment in the city, quality education, appropriate infrastructures, good facilities, good governance, resiliency and the effective delivery of services to its constituents.
Our Cebu Program is a public-private partnership initiated by the Capitol in partnership with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated. It is designed to strengthen each LGU's services to their constituents. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
