Man on drug list gunned down in Danao City

CEBU, Philippines - A 29-year-old man was gunned down by four motorcycle-riding persons in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City shortly before midnight yesterday.

Victim Aidan Monte-leon Dagatan sustained at least 15 gunshot wounds to his head and body that caused his immediate death.

As per initial police investigation, the victim was standing along P.G. Almendras Street at past 11 p.m. on Thursday when the masked assailants riding on two motorcycles arrived and shot him repeatedly.

The assailants then sped off after making sure that the victim was already dead.

The victim sustained six gunshot wounds to his right shoulder, another six to his chest, two to his neck and one to his head.

Further investigation showed that Dagatan is on the watchlist of Danao City Police Station of persons allegedly involved in illegal drugs in the city.

Police recovered from the crime scene eight deformed slugs of a cal. 45 pistol and 11 empty shells of the same caliber of firearm.

Investigation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the assailants and to determine their motive behind the killing. (FREEMAN)
