Farmer stabbed by sister’s partner

Mae Clydyl L. Avila - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A farmer died after he was stabbed by the live-in partner of his sister "out of paranoia" Wednesday afternoon in Sitio Napu, Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City.

Cesar Heliacone, 32, was stabbed by Marcelo Sacamay, after the latter thought the victim was planning to kill him.

Based on the initial investigation of Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office, Heliacone and Sacamay were drinking after their farming chores.

When they were already drunk, Heliacone left for home with a friend, a certain Wilson.

But while they were on their way home, the two were reportedly surprised when Sacamay appeared in front of them and confronted Heliacone, saying "taronga ko ninyo og plano, tirahon man kaha ko ninyo."

Heliacone denied the allegation, but Sacamay ignored this and pulled out his farming bolo tucked on his waist and stabbed Heliacone countless times.

Heliacone was able to run away from the suspect, but eventually collapsed due to loss of blood.

He was attended to by responding medical personnel, but was declared unresponsive.

Sacamay immediately fled after the victim ran away from him.

According to investigators, Sacamay had no clear motive to go after the victim. (FREEMAN)
