Stabbing suspect killed in pursuit

CEBU, Philippines - A man who stabbed his neighbor in Naga City met his untimely death when he allegedly attacked the cops who pursued him last Sunday.

Policemen went after Benjamin Repollo after he stabbed his neighbor, Bernardo Abolidor, at past 5 p.m. Repollo was allegedly drunk at that time.

Abolidor had to be brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital after he sustained injuries to his right arm where the knife hit him when he was defending himself.  

Hours later, at nearly 11 p.m., policemen went after Repollo in Barangay Tuyan and during hot pursuit, Repollo allegedly attacked the cops with a bladed weapon, prompting the policemen to shoot him.

Gunshot wounds to different parts of Repollo’s body caused his instantaneous death.

Police recovered two slugs, five fired cartridges, including the .38 caliber revolver and the knife Repollo used. (FREEMAN)
