‘Bigtime’ drug pusher in danao: Woman arrested with P650T shabu
CEBU, Philippines – A woman was arrested after she reportedly yielded nearly P650,000 worth of shabu in a raid in Barangay Taboc, Danao City yesterday.
Arrested was Nimpa Dela Rama, an alleged bigtime drug pusher.
Operatives of Danao City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) first placed the suspect in a buy-bust operation then raided her house by virtue of search warrant.
The warrant was issued by Judge Jerry Dicdican of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25 in Danao City.
During the 1 a.m. operation, the police seized a pack of shabu worth P500 from Dela Rama.
They then raided the suspect’s house and further recovered a large pack and four small packs of suspected shabu weighing 55 grams, P1,940 cash, and drug paraphernalia. The raid was witnessed by no less than the suspect’s husband.
The confiscated shabu was valued at P649,000 based on the estimates of the Dangerous Drugs Board.
Chief Inspector Fructoso Lim, chief of Danao City Police Station who led the operation, called for the buy-bust operation to further strengthen their case against the suspect.
Police Officer 3 Marlon Remullo, CAIDSOTG investigator, said the suspect was placed under a week-long surveillance prior to yesterday’s operation.
Dela Rama, Remullo said, is a “bigtime” drug pusher in Barangay Taboc and her arrest helped in the city’s effort to curb the supply of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, at least P150,000 worth of shabu was also confiscated from a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Barangay La Paz, Bogo City last Thursday.
Bohol native Onofre Ceniza, 45, who resides in Barangay Mahawak, Medillin town was arrested after a medium-sized pack of suspected shabu weighing 12.76 grams and amounting to P150,600 was seized from him.
