CEBU, Philippines – The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office has indicted two people in court for illegally selling petroleum products.

Assistant city prosecutor Mary Ann Castro has found probable cause against Gorgonio Armenteros Jr. and Gerald Villegas for violation of Republic Act 8479 otherwise known as the Act Deregulating the Downstream Oil Industry and for other Purposes.

Armenteros, 40, resident of Dungoan, Danao City and Villegas, 43, resident of Tabura Street, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City, were earlier arrested buying and selling stolen petroleum products.

Castro recommended P20,000 bail for each of the accused.

The accused were arrested on December 17, 2015 by the operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 following a complaint from Cokaliong Shipping Lines and Shell Philippines.
