PRO-7 starts bidding for 19 police bldgs
CEBU, Philippines - Police Regional Office-7 has started bidding out the construction of 19 police stations and offices in Central Visayas.
Senior Superintendent Rey Lyndon Lawas, chief of the Regional Directorial Staff of PRO-7, said the projects have already complied with all the requirements, especially the lot needed for the construction.
As of yesterday, five police stations and one police office in Cebu have been bid out.
These include the Bantayan Municipal Police Station, Madridejos Police Station, Minglanilla Police Station, Tuburan Police Station, Aloguinsan Police Station and the Cebu City Police Office.
Lawas, however, said they are still waiting for a bidder for Bantayan and Madridejos Police Stations.
“Walay bidders kay siguro nagkulang ta og pahibawo sa public nga naay project ug naay budget para ana. Kailangan pa ma-inform ang gusto mokuha ana nga proyekto,” said Lawas.
Lawas said they are trying to hasten the bidding process to avoid the election ban.
“Mao na nga we tried to fast-track the conduct of bidding para at least dili kaayo ta maabtan sa ban, dili masayang ang kuwarta,” said Lawas.
He said the budget of the project depends on the type of police station or police office to be built.
“Like sa CCPO, Type A na siya nga office so dako gyud og budget. In every municipalities, lahi-lahi pud ang type sa ilang police station so magdepende na siya,” Lawas explained.
Lawas said the Philippine National Police would be very happy to accept assistance from the Local Government Unit. It was reported earlier that the Cebu City government has allocated P50 million for the CCPO building, which remained unused.
“We would be very happy if LGU can help us for the construction of police stations kay they can serve the purpose man pud sa mga constituents,” said Lawas. (FREEMAN)
