Boy zapped to death
CEBU, Philippines - A 16-year-old boy was electrocuted while collecting pigeons and their eggs in the ceiling of motor pool building of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Liloan, Santander, Cebu.
Francis Jay Bureros was found dead by his parents Sunday morning.
Police Officer 2 Franklin Digao said the parents were looking for the boy after he had not returned home on Saturday night. He was last seen by his friends Saturday evening while he was on his way to catch pigeons and collect their eggs at the DPWH compound.
Digao said it was not the first time that Bureros had ventured into the DPWH compound to catch pigeons and collect eggs. The police believe that the boy may have accidentally touched a defective electrical wiring in the ceiling because of the burns he sustained in his body.
The police have advised the parents to submit the body for autopsy to ensure there was no foul play. However, the parents said they are convinced that no foul play was involved. (FREEMAN)
