Man stabbed by nephew he punched
CEBU, Philippines - A man who was drunk who allegedly punched his wife and his nephew landed in the hospital after his nephew stabbed him twice inside their house in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City last Sunday afternoon.
Manuel Inoc, 59, is recuperating at a public hospital for suffering stab wounds on the chest and stomach.
Senior Police Officer 2 Wetzel Berry, homicide investigator, said Inoc arrived home drunk around 1:45 p.m. last Sunday and was babbling. He then reportedly confronted his nephew, Junnie Pintor, 29, which led to an argument and prompted Inoc’s wife, Nida, to intervene.
Inoc, however, punched Nida in the stomach and, subsequently, Pintor.
But Pintor was able to get hold of a screwdriver and stabbed Inoc in the left side of the chest and stomach.
“Basta mahubog, mao gyud kuno na siya. Magmaoy kuno,” Berry said.
Nida was the one who rushed Inoc to the hospital with the help of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF).
Berry said the doctor revealed that the screwdriver almost hit Inoc’s lungs.
Pintor has fled right after the incident. (FREEMAN)
