Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Six people were injured after a man allegedly lost control of his newly-repaired car just as he was driving out from the car shop past 4 p.m. yesterday in Sitio Puntod, Alaska, Mambaling, Cebu City.

Alex Aleonar, 62, the owner of the Toyota Vios, was reportedly driving the car in reverse out of the repair shop when he lost control of it and hit two trisikads and six people, and destroying the concrete wall of the house of a certain Teofila Paslon.

Aleonar had to be brought to the hospital after he complained of tightness in the chest after the accident, said Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, chairman of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Council.

The injured persons were Amora Suplicio, 25; Marlito Golo, 20; Don Niño Ocarol, 11; John Lloyd Montañez, 5; and Real Genesis Magtagad, 2.

Cebu City Traffic Operations personnel are still trying to locate one Badjao kid, who was reportedly injured, but immediately left the accident scene.

Tumulak said that the victims of the accident are mostly victims of the Mambaling fire on Tuesday.  — (FREEMAN)
