CEBU, Philippines – The elements of Dalaguete Police Station are waiting for the court to issue an arrest warrant against the drunk man who stabbed dead a public school teacher while attending disco on All Saints’ Day.

Police Officer Reynaldo Vidas, desk officer of Dalaguete Police Station, said Crispin Tangpos is already facing criminal complaint before the provincial prosecutor’s office for killing Raul Paz, resident of Barangay Casay and a teacher at Malones Elementary School.

Tangpos, a resident of Barangay Maluray, Dalaguete, allegedly stabbed Paz several times while attending a disco in a covered court past 2 a.m. on November 1.

Paz succumbed to multiple stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Barili District Hospital. Vidas said they are just waiting for the case to be filed in court and for the handling judge to issue the arrest warrant.

Police investigation showed that Tangpos and Paz were having a drinking session with a group of friends prior to the stabbing incident.

“Kauban sila nag-inom unya naabot og lalis nga hinubog. Wa makauyon si Tangpos,” Vidas said, adding that their companions in the drinking spree were the ones who pointed Tangpos as the culprit.

Vidas said they received reports that Tangpos had killed someone before but they have yet to verify the information. At the time of the incident, Tangpos was reportedly bringing the bladed weapon with him. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
