Old woman dies in hit-and-run

CEBU, Philippines – An old woman died of vehicular accident yesterday morning along S. Osmeña Avenue in Cebu City.

The victim who is believed to be in her 70s was hit by a Nissan Navarra with plate number FST 254. Traffic investigator Noel Melecio Belicario said the driver of the vehicle left the victim on the road.

The unidentified woman suffered severe head injury. The victim was brought by the responding paramedics to Cebu City Medical Center where she was declared dead on arrival.

Belicario said there were witnesses who were able to see the vehicle’s plate. He said the traffic office will be coordinating with the Land Transportation Office to identify the owner of the vehicle. — (FREEMAN)
