Four arrested in weekend drug busts
CEBU, Philippines – Four men, including two suspected drug pushers, were arrested by police in two separate buy-bust operations in Naga City and Argao on Saturday.
In Naga, police arrested the suspects in Barangay Tina-an at past 10 a.m.
Macloyd Bacon, 32, a suspected drug pusher, was arrested after he handed over a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer during the operation while Ching Montebon, 22, and Dolly Sabas, 38, were also arrested for drug possession.
The Naga Police coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to carry out the bust after they received information about the suspect’s alleged illegal activities. A poseur-buyer bought a pack shabu from Bacon worth P200.
Montebon and Sabas were caught in the house where the bust was made. A pack of shabu was confiscated from each of them.
Several hours later, at past 8 p.m., police arrested suspected drug pusher Jimar Villamonte, 25, in Argao after he sold a suspected pack of shabu also to a poseur-buyer.
Senior Inspector Alejandro Batobalonos, Argao Police Station chief, and two other operatives conducted the operation against Villamonte.
A poseur-buyer bought a pack of suspected shabu from the suspect and arrested him after the transaction was consummated.
The police also confiscated 10 small packs of suspected shabu from the suspect worth P8,260 and recovered the buy-bust money from him.
The four men arrested are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —/JMO (FREEMAN)
