Raps filed vs. man for nubain
CEBU, Philippines – The Office of the Cebu City Prosecutor had indicted a 29-year-old man who was arrested for possession of nubain and syringes.
Prosecutor III Noel Cellona held Jayson Ledamo, a resident of Sitio Tapuko, Barangay Pit-os, for trial after finding probable cause to charge him for violating Sections 11 and 12 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002.
During inquest proceeding, Ledamo chose not to answer the allegations at the prosecutor’s level and manifested to face the charges in court.
Cellona recommended a P240,000 bail for Ledamo’s temporary liberty.
Ledamo was arrested by the elements of Talamban Police Station after he was found with two ampoules of nubain and three unused syringes during a buy bust operation around on August 29.
Ledamo was arrested after he failed to present a prescription from a physician allowing him to possess the drug. He was present during the entrapment operation against Oniel Codilla, 28, who has been in the police watch list on illegal drug trade in the area.
Codilla was apprehended after handing a small pack of shabu to a police decoy in exchange of P200.
Another six small packs of shabu and P600 cash believed to be proceeds of the sale were also found with Codilla.
Ledamo and Codilla are currently detained at the Cebu City Jail pending trial of their cases in court. —/JMO (FREEMAN)
