CEBU, Philippines- Police arrested at least six persons and seized over P200,000 worth of shabu on Saturday in Purok Dabong, Liloan town.

Christopher Pepito, 30, and Jay Sidon, 33, the subjects of the two search warrants, were arrested almost simultaneously past 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Ronald Nalinga, 30; Rachel Comendador, 27, believed to be Pepito’s cohorts were arrested inside his house while Lenwell Tudlo, 22; and Charlene Abrea, 25, believed to be Sidon’s cohort, were also arrested by the police.

Liloan police led by Senior Inspector Ramil Morpos implemented the search warrants issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 56 Judge Teresita Galanida at Pepito’s house at 9:25 a.m. on Saturday.

The police placed Pepito under arrest after they recovered two big packs and seven small packs of suspected shabu, a digital weighing scale, drug paraphernalia, scissors and bundles of plastic used for repacking shabu.

The police also recovered a tablet, a mobile phone, a plastic box and P1,400, believed to be proceeds of the illegal drugs business.

Comendador and Nalinga, who were at the house when the police implemented the search warrant, were placed under custody after the police recovered suspected drugs from their possession.

Three small packs of suspected shabu were recovered from Nalinga while five small packs of suspected shabu were recovered from Comendador.

The confiscated shabu from Pepito’s residence weighed 8.05 grams and was valued at P100,000, based on the Dangerous Drigs Board estimates.

Five minutes after the Liloan police implemented the search warrant at Pepito’s house, another search warrant was implemented at Sidon’s house in Sitio Dabong that led to the arrest of at least three persons.

Sidon was in his house during the implementation of the search warrant.

The police recovered a big plastic pack and four small packs of suspected shabu from his house.

They also confiscated a wallet, drug paraphernalia, scissors and bundles of plastic for repacking shabu.

Both Tudlo and Abrea were arrested after the police recovered three small packs of suspected shabu from each of them.

The confiscated shabu found inside Sidon’s house weighed 8.121 grams and has a value of P102,000.

The two alleged drug pushers were under surveillance for their alleged illegal activities and when Liloan police established that they are selling drugs, the cops applied for a search warrant.   (FREEMAN)
