More proof vs brothers accused of raping woman

Ma. Fatima R. Secuya - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Women’s Commission (PWC) will file a supplemental affidavit against the two brothers who allegedly raped a pregnant woman in Naga City last Sunday night.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, chairperson of PWC, said the additional affidavit contains the testimony of the woman’s four-year-old son who witnessed the crime.

The woman was sleeping with her two children at the time their neighbors allegedly raped her. The woman’s husband was out working at that time.

“Ang babaye was in state of shock so basin sayop to iya pagkaila. Naa man to ang iya four-year-old son nga nakakita sa incident mao nang gamiton nato,” Magpale said.

“Kuhaon namo ang bata by Monday para mainterview,” she added.

The victim’s family had come to Cebu from Mindanao and settled in Naga City six months ago to search for better opportunities.

“Dili ni namo i-tolerate. Nahug na man ni siya og bullying gud tungod kay abin dili sila taga-Cebu,” Magpale said.

The suspects, both married, were arrested by Naga policemen last Sunday night. They are facing rape charges and are detained at the Naga City jail. —/JMO (FREEMAN)
