Woman flees with bf who killed her father

Ma. Fatima R. Secuya - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – “Blood is thicker than water” it is said.  For a woman in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, however, it turned out to be the opposite, after she instead fled with her boyfriend after he allegedly killed her father.

Orlyn Rosaupan was nowhere to be found when responding policemen arrived after receiving a stabbing alarm in Sitio Villagonzalo II yesterday dawn.

PO1 Reoful Adalim of the Cebu City Police Office Homicide Section said the knife that killed Juanito Rosaupan, 43, was still embedded in his chest when they found him lifeless inside his house.

Initial investigation showed that Josol, a painter from Daanbantayan, Cebu, visited Orlyn, his girlfriend, around 2 a.m., when Juanito was already sleeping.

Because of the noise, Juanito awakened, got out of bed, confronted and scolded Josol for being “impolite” for not asking his permission to come inside the house.

The confrontation resulted in a fight, wherein the suspect got hold of a knife from the kitchen and allegedly stabbed Juanito several times.

Juanito died on the spot after he suffered multiple stab wounds in different parts of his body.

Adalim said the fatal wounds the victim suffered were in the neck and chest, where the 11-inch knife was left embedded.

The police also recovered from the crime scene a four-and-a-half-inch black knife with a black plastic scabbard.

The pieces of evidence recovered from the scene were submitted for analysis to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office-7 while Juanito’s remains were brought to Eternal Funeral Homes for autopsy.

As of press time, the suspect remains at large and believed to have run away with the victim’s daughter. – /RHM (FREEMAN)
