BOC to auction off P7.8M seized goods

CEBU, Philippines- The Bureau of Customs-Port of Cebu announced it is set to auction off an estimated P7.8 million worth of goods on February 26.

The bidding will be held around 10 a.m. at the said port’s conference room.

Ricorey Holganza, BOC-Port of Cebu legal officer, said these imported shipments were seized after they were declared undervalued.

The following items due for auction are as follows:

First: 14x20 container of various tiles consigned to city Walker Business Ventures Inc. which arrived from China last July 5, 2014 with a floor price of P5,793,712.

Second: one package containing power cable, annealed stranded copper conductor, insulation, copper wire screen, PVC inner sheath, steel wire armored and PVC outer sheath consigned to Allied Homes Marketing with a floor price of P289,147.

Third: 1x20 container containing 20 pieces of personal effects, four used jetskis and four rims with tires consigned to Stargaze Enterprises from the United States of America with a floor price of P1.021 million.

Fourth: 1x20 container containing used Mini Cooper with a floor price of P750,000.

Holganza said these articles will be available for viewing on February 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cebu International Port holding area.

In the event of failed bidding, he said the second auction shall be automatically held on March 3 at the same floor price without need for further publication or posting.  (FREEMAN)
