Four nabbed in drug bust
CEBU, Philippines - Four people were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Poblacion, Danao City Friday evening that also resulted in the confiscation of at least P130,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch arrested Jerson Cabales, 22, of Negros Occidental; Arlito Landero 40, Reyjoy Baco, 31, and Dennis Espinosa, 25, of Danao City.
The suspects were at the area where the PIB operatives negotiated a drug transaction with Michael Mangas past 7 p.m. Friday. Mangas eluded arrest.
The police said the four arrested suspects were Mangas’ cohorts. The police recovered several packs of shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspects worth P130,272.
The arrested suspects were brought to the PIB office where they are temporarily detained pending the filing of the formal complaint.
Mangas, despite having eluded arrest, will still face a criminal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. —FPL (FREEMAN)
