Police seize P300T drugs in Suba raid
CEBU, Philippines - At least P300,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated yesterday during a raid in Barangay Suba, Cebu City that resulted in the arrest of one of the two female suspected drug pushers subject of the operation.
Members of the San Nicolas Police Station led by Senior Inspector Chuck Barandog raided Mary Grace Abellana and Lourdes Mata at 11 a.m. yesterday by virtue of the search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 and 10, respectively.
Abellana, who is considered a level 2 pusher capable of disposing 100 grams every week, eluded arrest. The police, however, recovered four medium and 67 small packs of shabu in her residence at Concepcion Street, Barangay Suba. The police estimated the total drugs recovered from her house to be worth P153,000.
Barandog said Abellana has been placed under surveillance for three weeks.
At the nearby Garfield Street, the police arrested Mata, 45, and her live-in partner, Fernando Español. Mata is said to be a level 3 pusher capable of disposing at least 50 grams of shabu every week. She had been under surveillance for one month.
The police seized three medium packs of shabu in her house while a caliber .38 revolver was recovered from Español.
Abellana and Mata will face criminal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act while Español will be charged with illegal possession of firearm.— FPL (FREEMAN)
