Salesman loses P50T to robbers

Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A salesman lost P50,000 to two unidentified robbers yesterday afternoon in Barangay Pitalo, San Fernando.

Jerry Torcende, 30, of Tipolo, Mandaue City, delivery salesman of Mighty Tobacco Corporation, was found by his fellow employees Ricky Torcende, 22, his brother, and Adonis Cajes, 24, padlocked inside the delivery van.

Initial investigation revealed that Jerry and his co-workers were on their usual routine of delivering cigarette packs to their customers in San Fernando.

They stopped in Barangay Pitalo to deliver cigarette packs to a nearby store. Jerry was reportedly left at the delivery van while his two companions went to deliver cigarettes to the store.

While waiting for his co-workers, Jerry decided to arrange the packs of cigarettes inside the delivery van. However, two unidentified robbers arrived and locked him inside the van after taking his P50,000 sales.

The robbers were allegedly wearing bonnets and armed with unknown caliber of firearm.

The victims reported the incident to the barangay hall in Pitalo. The officials then reported the incident to the police. — (FREEMAN)
