US Navy to open four renovated facilities of DSWD
CEBU, Philippines - United States Navy’s Construction Civic Action Detail Philippines will mark its yearlong civil engagement in Cebu by inaugurating four renovated facilities of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
The ceremony marks the culmination of work between the Philippine Army Engineer’s 53rd Engineering Brigade and the US Navy Seabees.
The four facilities include the Girls Dormitory, Persons with Disabilities Dormitory, Regional Haven, and Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center.
A statement sent by the U.S. Embassy in Manila said that as part of the ongoing initiative to build teamwork between the Philippine and U.S. militaries, the renovation of the facilities were among the eight projects in Cebu that were bilaterally planned by the Armed Forces of the Philippines -Central Command and the U.S. Navy’s 30th Naval Construction Regiment.
Service members from AFP-CV and U.S. Navy Seabees and DSWD-7 representatives are expected to attend the inauguration slated on February 3 at 9 a.m. — (FREEMAN)
