PhilHealth extends area for clearance issuance

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation is temporarily extending its services in the issuance of Certificates of Good Payment Standing to employers and business owners, in time for the renewal of business permits.

In a statement, PhilHealth said its personnel will be at the SM City Cebu Government Services Express until January 30 to issue CGPS to employers and proprietors.

CGPS is one of the clearances required by local government units for the renewal of business permits.

CGPS issuance at SM will be from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To get the clearance, according to PhilHealth, employers must present a proof of complete payment of its employees’ PhilHealth contribution for the last 12 months and the corresponding remittance reports.

Sole proprietors, on the other hand, have to present a proof of their personal premium contribution for the last 12 months.

PhilHealth added that employers using the Electronic Premium Reporting System (EPRS) may present a screenshot of their transaction monitoring.

Employers and proprietors are likewise reminded to bring the business permit application form when requesting for CGPS.

It added that at the regional office, the issuance of CGPS to a bookkeeper or company representative handling more than two establishments or branches (bulk transaction) shall be done until March 13, 2015.

PhilHealth local health insurance offices in the cities of Mandaue, Carcar, and Danao also issue CGPS Mondays through Fridays.

Additionally, PhilHealth Danao also issues CGPS Mondays through Fridays at the Bogo City Hall and in the municipal halls of Liloan, Medellin, and San Remigio.

“Employers and proprietors who are regularly prompt in remitting and submitting their remittance reports enjoy the convenience of having their CGPS sent to their establishments or offices earlier,” reads the statement of the government-owned and controlled corporation.

It further said that before the end of 2014, their Collection Section has already released 3,202 CGPS to establishments with updated remittances and reports, which in effect, helps declog PhilHealth offices during the business permit application period. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/NSA (FREEMAN)
