“Mentally deranged” son kills pa

CEBU, Philippines -  A 62-year-old man was killed by his son at Sitio Adelfa, Barangay Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City Friday morning.

 Raymundo Abellanosa Sr. succumbed to multiple stab wounds. He was declared dead on arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center.

Initial investigation showed that Raymundo Sr. was preparing to cook for their small eatery business when his son, Raymundo Jr., suddenly came out with a knife and stabbed him without any provocation.

Homicide investigator, SPO4 Rey Cuyos, said the suspect is said to be suffering from nervous breakdown.

Erlinda, the victim’s wife, said that their son was suffering from a mental problem since 2010. She told the police that the suspect never slept the night before the incident and kept walking in and out of their house.

The suspect was arrested and is currently detained at Pardo Police Station. A case of parricide will be filed against him.  (FREEMAN)
