CEBU, Philippines - Three men were found dead in separate suicide incidents in Cebu in the last two days.

In Barangay Poblacion, Liloan, 64-year-old Nipomocino Aguipo was found dead hanging from a rope Tuesday night. His body was already starting to decompose when discovered.

Aguipo’s body was reportedly found after neighbors noticed a foul odor coming from his house. Policemen responded and found a rope tied around Aquino’s neck.

Aguipo’s family believed that the victim committed suicide and opted not to subject the body to an autopsy.

In Barangay Dapdap, Compostela, Antonio Wagas, 54, was found dead hanging from a tree near his house Wednesday morning.

Wagas’ body was discovered by his wife at around 10 a.m.

Initial investigation revealed that Wagas had reportedly been uneasy since Tuesday but his wife had no idea why he was acting strange.

The body was not also subjected to an autopsy after the family got convinced that the victim really committed suicide.

In Barangay Poblacion, Alegria, Alfredo Glinogo, 30, was also found hanging from the ceiling of his house at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

As per investigation, before his body was discovered, Glinogo had allegedly implied on committing suicide.

He was allegedly having a drinking session with his cousins in Barangay Montpeller when he said, “Gaw, og mamatay ko, kabalo na ka asa ko padulong (Cousin, if I die, you already know where I am headed for).”

A few minutes later, Glinogo went home and was later found by his brother hanging from the ceiling. The victim’s brother tried to rescue him, but he was already dead.

The victim’s mother said his son had been harboring ill feelings toward other members of their family, which may have prompted him to end his life.

The municipal health officer said there were no signs of foul play in the victim’s death.  (FREEMAN)
