CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Government’s Committee on Discipline and Investigation is now looking into another report of an alleged illicit affair involving a married Capitol official.

This after photos circulating the social media sites showed a woman sitting on the lap of the Capitol official. The photos appear to have been taken in a beach.

The names of the persons involved are being withheld, pending the investigation.

Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III has instructed to place under investigation the said official.

“I was told nga migawas sa Facebook kining photos of the OIC (Officer-in-charge) and a woman, not his wife. I was informed by the Provincial Administrator about this nga mikalat na. We will find out if the woman is also an employee of the Capitol. Let us give him due process,” he told reporters.

With this, Davide reminded Capitol officials and personnel to maintain professional and ethical conduct.

“All public officials duna man tay oath. We have to conduct ourselves in public. But, I am not drawing any conclusion here, ato sa na nga paimbestigaran,” he said.

Davide stressed that due process will be observed which will be the same due process extended to former Capitol Security chief Loy Anthony Madrigal.

Madrigal resigned from the Capitol following the issues hurled against him, including the alleged illicit affair with his secretary, who is married, and the alleged involvement in a road incident in Bogo City that resulted to the untimely death of a certain Felix Mirambel.

The photos of Madrigal with the secretary also circulated in social media sites.

While the Codi was investigating Madrigal’s case, Davide asked for his resignation and that of his secretary over the issue of morality.

When asked if he would also ask the resignation of the Capitol personnel who is currently involved in the controversy, Davide said he would wait for the recommendation of the investigating committee.

The FREEMAN sought comment from Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino who heads the Codi, but was told that he could not give a statement for now. He suggested not to talk about the issue for the meantime since the province is still preparing for the impending typhoon. (FREEMAN)
