Rainy November 1 and 2

CEBU, Philippines - Those going to the cemeteries on November 1 and 2 are advised to prepare as the weekend is expected to be rainy, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration-Mactan.

Oscar Tabada, chief weather specialist, said that starting yesterday, Eastern and Central Visayas experienced light-to-moderate rain and heavy rains at times due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

“Ang uwan-uwan that we are experiencing is due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone pero ang atong kadagatan dili kaayo balod pero kung dunay thunderstorm expect nga dagko ang balod,” Tabada said, who added that the weather is expected to be better on Monday.

“Kung manglakaw man gani kay mangadto man gyud og menteryo magdala gyud og payong o pandong,” he said.

Tabada added that those who are living in landslide and flashflood-prone areas are advised to take extra precaution.

“Ang northeast monsoon maoy nagdala og uwan sa Eastern Visayas so mas naay uwan aning dapita kumpara sa Western Visayas which is mas daghan ang init,” Tabada said.

In November, rain showers are still expected although it would be lower than the normal level.  With this, everyone is advised to save water as normal rainfall pattern will be affected.  (FREEMAN)
