Vessel sinks off Leyte

CEBU, Philippines -  The vessel was not able to reach its destination in Lipata, Surigao City, as it reportedly encountered a problem as it sailed and later sank.

PCG Eastern Visayas was wrapping up incident report as of this writing.

Meanwhile, there were also two minor sea mishaps in Bohol yesterday as two motorbancas also did not make it to their supposed port of destination, but both were safely rescued.

Motorbanca Lolita Concepcion left Bato, Leyte, and heading to Ubay, Bohol when it encountered engine trouble at around 1 p.m. yesterday prompting an emergency docking at Pitogo, Bohol. All 12 passengers on board were brought to shore safely.

Off Carlos P. Garcia Island an unidentified motorbanca floundered around 4:30 p.m. The 10 passengers on board were safely rescued by PCG personnel and brought to nearby Pamilacan Island still in Bohol.  (FREEMAN)
