Bounty eyed for robbery suspect
CEBU, Philippines - The Police Regional Office-7 is planning to recommend before the Department of the Interior and Local Government to include robbery suspect Leonardo Rama as one of the most wanted persons in Central Visayas.
Superintendent Pablo Labra II, chief of the Regional Intelligence Division, said Rama is considered armed and dangerous. He was tagged as suspect in several robbery incidents in Cebu City and is said to be wanted for several robbery cases in Davao City.
Rama’s group was tagged in the August 13 robbery of LBC Escario Branch. The group was also eyed in the robbery of La Nueva and Three-sixty Pharmacy in Inayawan and Talamban, respectively.
Labra said they are now working out with the DILG to allocate funds as bounty for the immediate arrest of Rama. Labra said reward money can help to encourage ordinary citizens to give information to the police.
According to Labra, a manhunt operation has been launched already for Rama and his cohorts’ immediate arrest.
Labra said they will coordinate with the Military Intelligence Group in Davao where Rama used to be an asset. He hopes that the military can help them track down Rama.
Rama’s knowledge on military intelligence is believed to have helped him evade arrest. (FREEMAN)
