PM members hire consultants
CEBU, Philippines - The members of the Cebu Provincial Board have named their respective consultants for the period July1, 2014 to December 31, 2014.
They picked members of their families, lawyers, and former legislators, among others, who could help them execute their duties and functions and in their respective legislative committees.
Lester Daan is PB Member Julian Daan’s consultant on public affairs and information while Joel Famador is consultant on legislative matters of the office of PB Member Raul Alcoseba for the first district.
Other named consultants were former Badian councilor Edwin Celeste on local legislation of the office of PB Member Peter John Calderon, Christine Baricuatro on livelihood for women of the office of PB Member Christopher Baricuatro for the second district, and lawyers Gonzalo Malig-on Jr. and Nelson Mondigo on legislative matters of the office of PB Members Sun Shimura and Joven Mondigo Jr., respectively, for the fourth district.
Christine Magpale is consultant on information and communications technology of the office of PB Member Jude Thaddeus Sybico while Joey Francis Umerez on planning and development of the office of PB Member Miguel Antonio Magpale for the fifth district.
Edgar Antonio and former PB member, lawyer Victor Maambong, are consultants on legislative matters of the office of PB Member Arleigh Jay Sitoy and Thadeo Ouano, respectively, for the sixth district.
Lawyer Edmund Lao is consultant on legislative matters of the office of PB Member Carmen Remedios Durano-Meca of the Philippine Councilors League, and Gerick Caesare Paderanga on legal and legislative matters of the office of PB Member Celestino Martinez III of the Liga ng mga Barangay-Cebu provincial chapter.
The PB is set to pass today a resolution sponsored by PB Member Grecilda Sanchez authorizing Governor Hilario Davide III to enter into and sign a consultancy contract with the named consultants.
Sanchez said she has yet to name her consultant while her colleague in the third district, PB Member Alex Binghay, had already hired ahead of the others.
She explained that the conditions and qualifications in the hiring of individual consultants are “highly technical or proprietary and primarily confidential of policy determining, where trust and confidence are the primary consideration.”
A consultant will receive around P25,000 monthly compensation. (FREEMAN)
