Police: Mother of minor drug peddler accountable
CEBU, Philippines - The Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk of the Cebu City Police Office has found liabilities on the part of the mother of the 15-year-old girl who was arrested for selling Nubain last week.
Senior Inspector Arieza Otida, chief of WCPD, said the girl’s mother is accountable why her daughter became a drug peddler, though they could not arrest her due to humanitarian reason.
“Luoy man gud unya bag-o lang nanganak, in which mao na among gi-consider why we will not file charges against her,” Otida explained.
She said the girl is now at the Operation Second Chance in Barangay Kalunasan while her 13-year-old sister is now in the care of their aunt in Barangay Kamagayan.
The siblings were caught on the act of selling Nubain to undercover police operatives during a buy-bust operation Monday evening in Kamagayan. At least 63 ampules of the drugs were seized from both minors.
The 15-year-old girl, who was found to have acted with discernment for selling Nubain, has been into the illegal activity for three years now. Her younger sister had been released from police custody.
Police said the girls could sell at least 50 ampules of Nubain. Most of their customers were reportedly construction workers and students. (FREEMAN)
