Wife’s constant nagging led to husband’s suicide?

Jojo C. Ugdol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A 37-year-old man from the western town of Aloguinsan who reportedly has had enough of  his wife’s nagging decided to end his life yesterday.

No less than the man’s wife and children who left him in the morning to attend a wedding found him dead when they returned home in the afternoon. They saw him hanging from a rope lifeless.

He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The FREEMAN is withholding the name of the man, as well as that of his wife, owing to the sensitive nature of the case.

PO3 Vincent Alquiza of the Aloguinsan Police said that based on their investigation, the man seemed to have been depressed and kept to himself because his wife allegedly always embarrassed him by pointing out his joblessness in front of other people.

When this happens, the man would reportedly not answer but would simply walk away.

Alquisa said the man was also not in good terms with his children and mother-in-law precisely because he did not have a job.

He might have felt that his family was ganging up on him, Alquiza said.

“Wala na gyod siguro to siya nakaagwanta sa permi nga yawyaw sir, plus, dili napod siya tagdon sa iyang mga anak. Napuno na gyod ba,” Alquiza said.

The wife reportedly feels sorry for  how things turned out. Police have ruled out foul play. — /JMO (FREEMAN)
