CEBU, Philippines - A man met his untimely death while three of his companions were injured after they fell off the roof of a building they were fixing last Friday.

The fatality was identified as Jenny Tapinit, 18, while his companions were identified as Henry Sinangote, 30; Thaniel Verallo, 19; and Junnel Besuyo, 19.

Information gathered by authorities from the building’s security guards, Joselito Taperla and Esmeraldo Lumain, revealed that the four men are contract workers of Macro Star Contractor. They were hired to repair the roof of a one-story building of UNACO Company located in Barangay Langtad, Naga City.

Police Officer 1 Lord Cañada of the Naga City Police Station said one of the four slipped accidentally and bumped into the other three causing all of them to fall to the ground. Unfortunately, Tapinit suffered severe injuries and died. His companions were brought to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

“Kato man gud nga panahon ting-ulan tungod siguro sa hamog maong na-slide tung usa nga nibarog. Inig hulog niya nadaganan sab niya tung tulo mao nangahulog to sila,” Cañada said.

As of yesterday, it was unclear if Macro Star will shoulder the workers’ medical expenses.  (FREEMAN)
