CEBU, Philippines - Two people died of gunshot wounds in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City over the weekend.

At around 5 a.m. on Black Saturday, 29-year-old Iken Ybañez, a tricycle driver was shot dead by an unidentified assailant. The victim was driving his vehicle when he was shot.

He was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but did not make it to the hospital alive.

Meanwhile, evening on the same day, Bobby Rosal, 29, a farmer, was sleeping inside his house together with his wife when he was shot to death by an unknown assailant past 10 p.m. last Saturday in Barangay Tabunan.

Rosal was already dead when responding policemen arrived at the house. He succumbed to a wound in his left chest.

Homicide Investigator SPO4 Alex Dacua’s team recovered an empty shell of a caliber .45 from the crime scene.

Arsenia, the victim’s wife told investigators the assailant might have shot her husband from outside the window. She said it took her six hours to report the incident because of fear.  (FREEMAN)
