Daanbantayan relief distribution management lauded anew

CEBU, Philippines - Amidst complaints from at least 10 barangay captains in Daanbantayan for alleged irregularities in the distribution of relief assistance to typhoon victims, Mayor Augusto Corro received another commendation for his “efficient” management in the relief operations.

The Movement for a Livable Cebu praised Corro for “highly efficient assistance” extended to its teams during the relief operation.

MLC is a multi-sectoral people’s initiative composed of urban poor residents, professionals, youth, religious, business owners, property owners, and people with disability and concerned residents of Cebu who aim to make Cebu a sustainable and livable community.

MLC head convenor Marc Canton, in a letter dated April 9, 2014, expressed gratitude to Corro’s administration for being cooperative to the organizations that provide help to the rehabilitation and recovery of Daanbantayan.

Canton said that Corro has been facilitating the group in all the procedures during the distribution of shelter kits to the 190 families in the town. MLC assured that 90 more kits will be delivered soon.

Corro also received commendation earlier from the Cebu Provincial Board. (FREEMAN)
