‘Unruly’ American kicks cop, jailed

CEBU, Philippines - An American was arrested for allegedly assaulting policemen who responded to an alarm after the foreigner reportedly made a scene at a downtown Cebu City establishment Friday.

Michael Steven Croteau, 35, was detained for allegedly attacking PO3 Julibert Soque of the Special Weapons and Tactics of the city police.

Based on initial investigation, Croteau allegedly started a commotion inside McDonalds-Colonnade in Barangay Señor Sto. Niño at around 11:30 a.m.

A representative of the establishment called for police assistance.

When policemen from the Mobile Patrol Group came, Croteau alleged refused to follow Soque’s that he step outside.

Instead, Croteau reportedly violently twisted Soque’s hand violently and kicked him, prompting the policemen to subdue and handcuff the foreign national.— /RHM (FREEMAN)
