PRO-7 and LLCPO get Crame award

CEBU, Philippines - The Police Regional Office-7 received a Golden Eagle Award from Camp Crame for being a top notch office in the Performance Governance System with a total score of 98.13 percent over-all rating.

Directorate for Investigation and Detection Management executive officer, Chief Supt. Augustus Marquez, told reporters that PRO-7 now currently holds the record for having the highest rating that a police regional office has.

Marquez said that PRO-7 is now a "running champion" with regards to the over-all performance in the PGS as rated by Camp Crame officials.

Marquez who is a panelist of the PGS said that the Golden Eagle Award is only given to offices who garnered a total score of 96 to 100 percent.

The Lapu-Lapu City Police Office was also given a Silver Eagle Award with 95 percent over-all rating, Marquez said.

The award covers the 11 police stations in the city for showing great performance.

LLCPO Deputy Director for Operations, Supt. Virgil Ranes, told reporters that the office is conducting weekly case reviews and follow-ups of all cases in the city.

To help them solve the shooting incidents in the city, LLCPO organized the tricycle and trisikad drivers including local residents to form a neighborhood watch.

Marquez said that only the PRO-7 had shown the true picture of what is happening in its area of responsibility.

Marquez told reporters that only two station chiefs were found out not reporting the true crime rate in their respective areas of assignments.

Marquez said that they were immediately subjected to pre-charge evaluation for not following the Chief PNP Director General Alan Purisima's order.

The two include Insp. Rodrigo Tubog of Sibulan, Negros Oriental and Sr. Insp. Merceda-Ruis Balabat of Jagna, Bohol who have been relieved from their posts pending summary proceedings conducted by the PRO-7.

He said that unlike other regions, only two from PRO-7 were found to be not accurately reporting the crime rate. (FREEMAN)
