CH awardees vow to improve performance
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Hall outstanding employees were inspired and challenged to exert more effort to improve their services to the people.
Atty. Rafael Yap, Executive Director of the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management awarded as among the outstanding department heads, said he is challenged after receiving the award.
“It’s a very big challenge to show to Cebu nga CITOM deserves this award. There will be people (who will say that) with the growth of the City, the traffic is getting worst, so they will be challenging CITOM nga kamo outstanding man gyud kaha mo to do better,†he said. The CITOM has also won the 2013 e-governance award.
He said CITOM does not stop working and every year their income increases though he admitted that it came from the fines of those road rules violators.
“We’re doing something right in terms of trying to educate sa atong motorists through apprehensions. Mao ni atong direction,†he said
Dr. Ester Concha, head of Cebu City’s Department of Social Welfare and Services, also said she will continue what she has started and even improve her performance. Concha received the special Mayor’s Award.
“Ikorehe ang dapat ma-improve. Trabaho lang. Ma-motivate akong mga staff (to improve more),†Concha said.
She is planning to strengthen the organizational structure of the department and in each program should be focused by a particular person.
Cebu City Treasurer Diwa Cuevas, who was also a receiver of special Mayor’s Awards said she’s happy with it.
She said this first week of March they will focus on the property tax.
“ Tan-awon kon naunsa na ang property tax. I-reconcile kon naay na doble limpyohan. Mo collect (taxes) gyud ta so that naay mabalik sa mga tawo,†she said.
Last Saturday, more than 30 Cebu City Hall officials and employees were recognized for doing their responsibilities. (FREEMAN)
