CEBU, Philippines - Three men were arrested for possession of alleged shabu in Cebu City last Sunday night.

In Barangay Sawang Calero, a team from Police Station 6 led by P/Insp. Alexander Quirante was manning a checkpoint at the corner of Tupas and Carlock Streets when they flagged a man driving a motorcycle without a helmet. The man was also just wearing slippers.

When the man, identified later as Rian Quimque, 27, stopped his vehicle, the police saw the transparent plastic he was holding and found four small sachets of shabu therein. Quimque, a resident of Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City, was arrested and is now in detention.

Meanwhile, in the mountain barangay of Pulangbato, PO2 Junrell Balcamante, PO1 Stephen Rusiana and PO1 Ever Aneslagon of Police Station 8 were patrolling the area when they spotted a suspicious looking person by the road. When they approached the person, the man reportedly immediately threw something to the ground. The item was later found to be a plastic pack that contained alleged shabu.

The man, identified as Salem Abarial, 22, is a resident of the barangay.

In another incident, this time in Barangay Kalunasan, personnel of the City Intelligence Branch confiscated a small plastic pack containing alleged shabu from a 30-year-old man they arrested for robbery in Unit 2, OPRRA.
