PUJ conductor stabbed to death
CEBU, Philippines - A 26-year-old conductor of a public utility jeepney (PUJ) was stabbed to death by a man who was holding a long time grudge against him past 2 a.m. on Saturday near the Civic Center in Danao City.
Niñolito Juntilla, 26, of barangay Cogon East, Carmen sustained stab wounds on his head, left armpit and on the different parts of his body.
The suspect was identified as Jeffrey Zanoria, of Duterte Street, Barangay Suba, said city.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was stabbed several times by the suspect.
Investigators believed that the suspect had a grudge on the victim that resulted to the stabbing incident.
Although PO3 Roselo Campo told The FREEMAN that the Danao City police is still investigating the case.
Prior to the incident, witnesses saw Zanoria and Juntilla arguing with each other.
Minutes later, Zanoria stabbed Juntilla several times using a bladed weapon.
Juntilla was rushed to Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Campo said that after the incident, the suspect immediately fled away to an unknown place.
Danao City police is still conducting follow-up operation regarding the incident and to find the suspect. (FREEMAN)
