Capitol execs to learn how hospital is run

CEBU, Philippines - Governor Hilario Davide III is set to visit provincial hospital in Pangasinan next week to find out how it is efficiently managed in order to apply it in Cebu.

Capitol Information Officer Ethel Natera said that the scheduled visit of Davide together with provincial health office chief, Dr. Cynthia Genesolango and Board Member Peter John Calderon who chairs the health committee in the Provincial Board is on February 3 to 7.

“Tan-awon nila giunsa pag work out ug giunsa nga attractive sa mga medical practitioners to practice in a province-owned hospital aron ma-apply on how to improve our hospitals,” Natera said.

Natera said that somebody has shared how efficient the Province of Pangasinan manages its hospitals.

The Cebu officials are also set to pay courtesy call with Health Secretary Enrique Ona in Manila.

The province of Pangasinan is subdivided into 44 municipalities, four cities and six congressional districts.

Pangasinan has 51 hospitals and clinics and 68 rural health units.

All the hospitals operated by the provincial government are reportedly performing above par, living up to their respective mandates to give quality health care to the people of Pangasinan, especially the poor.

Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino Jr., since assuming office in 2007, has reportedly put health care on top of his priorities over all other programs.

The 14 hospitals operated by the provincial government, categorized from primary to tertiary, are all equipped with the needed facilities to save lives. (FREEMAN)
