Fire injures 1, destroys 6 houses in Minglanilla town
CEBU, Philippines - One person was injured in an afternoon fire that razed six houses and damaged two other houses in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla last Tuesday.
Fire investigators estimated the damage at P100,000.
Mario Paradero, a resident of Sitio Riles of the same barangay, suffered minor injuries in both hands while trying to put out the fire. He was not anymore brought to the hospital after first aid was applied on his injuries.
Some of the residents of the barangay also tried to help out extinguish the fire but not until it totally razed six houses owned by Antonio Locsin, Lorna Dimaclid, Janil Uy, Arlene Dimaclid, Conchita Toquero, and Darwin Zafra.
The fire alarm was first received by the Minglanilla police station at 1:30 p.m. The police relayed the information to the town's fire station. The fire was put out an hour later.
FO1 Fulbert Navaro said the incident is still under investigation and the cause of fire is yet to be determined.
"Sa pagkakaron wala pay report nga nakuha kung asa nagsugod ug kung unsa ang cause aning sunog," Navaro said. (FREEMAN)
