Traffic rerouting for launching, street dancing

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (CITOM) will be implementing a number of rerouting schemes with the start of events in line for the upcoming Sinulog Festival.

This Friday, a traffic rerouting will be done on streets that will be affected with the Sinulog launching parade.

The parade, which will start around 2 p.m, will kick-off from the Main Entrance of Basilica del Santo Niño, along Osmeña Blvd., heading straight to Fuente Rotunda (Relo side), then U-turn back to Osmeña Blvd., taking the left lane up to the Gate of Cebu City Sports Complex in between Cebu City Central School and Abellana National High School.

Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ) from Capitol and Lahug shall pass through Osmeña Blvd., to Fuente Oval, B. Rodriguez St., V. Rama Ave., then proceed to V. Rama Extn., then to their destination while PUJs from Carbon Area, shall turn left to F. Gonzales St., Magallanes St., Borromeo St., Sanciangko St., Panganiban St., N. Bacalso Ave., V. Rama Ave., then to their point of origin.

PUJs from Banawa and Guadalupe shall pass V. Rama Ave., Katipunan St., A. Lopez St., straight to Tres de Abril St., Carlock St., Tupas St., straight to Magallanes St., to Carbon Areas, F. Gonzales St., Magallanes St., Borromeo St., Sanciangko St., Panganiban St., N. Bacalso Ave., V. Rama Ave., then to their point of origin.

Passenger jeeps from Lahug passing Gen. Maxilom Ave., shall head to F. Ramos St., Junquera St., Colon St., D. Jakosalem St., then to their point of origin.

PUJs with Route No. 14D shall pass through N. Escario St., Juana Osmeña St., Gen. Maxilom Ave., F. Ramos St., to Junquera St., Colon St., Mabini St., V. Gullas St., Legaspi St., straight to Pelaez St., P. Del Rosario St., D. Jakosalem St., Echavez Extn., F. Ramos St., Raintree Mall, proceed to Juana Osmeña St., then to their point of origin.

PUJs from Talamban passing Junquera St.,/F. Ramos St., shall turn left to Sikatuna St., straight to Mabini St., V. Gullas St., D. Jakosalem St., to their usual route, then to their point of origin while Talamban route passing Sikatuna St., shall turn right to Colon St., D. Jakosalem St., then to their point of origin.

Passenger jeeps from Basak, Pardo, and Labangon passing P. del Rosario St., shall turn right to V. Rama Extn., Tres de Abril St., C. Padilla St., Panganiban St., Magallanes St., Borromeo St., to their usual route, then back to their point of origin. Also, PUJs coming from Inayawan, Basak, Pardo, and Labangon passing Colon St., shall turn right to Leon Kilat St., Magallanes St., then back to their point of origin.

Passenger jeeps from the south passing Colon St., bound for SM, and North Bus Terminal, shall turn right to V. Rama Extn., to Tres de Abril St., Lakandula St., C. Padilla St., Panganiban St., Magallanes St., Plaridel St., Lincoln St., F. Gonzales St., then follow to M.C. Briones St., M.J. Cuenco Ave., V. Sotto St., Serging Osmeña Blvd., then to their destination. PUJs coming from SM/NBT, shall turn left to Gen. Maxilom Ave., Juana Osmeña St., J. Llorente St., C. Rodriguez St., B. Rodriguez St., V. Rama Ave., N. Bacalso Ave., then back to their point of origin.

Passenger jeeps from Urgello and USC Girls High shall follow to Leon Kilat St., to Sanciangko St., Panganiban St., Colon St., Leon Kilat St., Magallanes St., Manalili St., J. Leyson St., to M.C. Briones St., M.J. Cuenco Ave., Palma St., Arellano Blvd., then to their destination.

While PUJs from the Pier, SM/NBT shall follow to M.J. Cuenco Ave., to Magallanes St., to M.C. Briones St., D. Jakosalem St., Magallanes St., to Borromeo St., Sanciangko St., N. Bacalso Ave., V. Rama Ave., Alcantara St., then to their point of origin.

Passenger jeeps from Mabolo passing Gen, Maxilom Ave., shall turn left to F. Ramos St., Junquera St., to Colon St., Mabini St., Zulueta St., M.J. Cuenco Ave, to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

The jeepneys from Mabolo passing V. Gullas St., shall turn right to Legaspi St., Colon St., Mabini St., Zulueta St., M.J. Cuenco Ave., then to their point of origin.

PUJs from Mandaue City passing V. Gullas St., shall turn left to. P. Burgos Jereza St., M.J. Cuenco Ave., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

Meanwhile, a rerouting will also be implemented on January 11 at around 12 noon for the Sinulog sa Kabataan- Lalawigan street dancing and competition.

Passenger jeeps with Route No. 03B shall turn left to F. Ramos St., right turn to Junquera St., to Sanciangko St., then head to Osmeña Blvd., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

PUJs with Route Nos. 04B, 04D, 04E, 04H, 14D, 17B and 17D shall go straight to Gorordo Ave., to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left to F. Ramos St., turn to Junquera St., then to Sanciangko St., to their destination at downtown area. While Route No. 14D shall turn left to Colon St., turn to Mabini St., to V. Gullas St., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

 While PUJs with Route Nos. 14B and 15 , shall turn left to Gov. Roa St., to Maria Cristina St., right turn to Juana Osmeña St., to Gen Maxilom Ave., then to F. Ramos St., right turn to Junquera St., to Sanciangko St., to their usual route, then to their point of destination.

Passenger jeeps with Route Nos., 06B, 06C, 06D, 06E, 06F, 07B, 07C, 07D, 07E and 07H shall go straight or turn right to V. Rama Ave., to N. Bacalso Ave., right turn to Osmeña Blvd., then back to their usual route to downtown area while passenger jeeps with Route Nos. 12L and 06H shall turn right or go straight to V. Rama Ave., to N. Bacalso Ave., left turn to Osmeña Blvd., right turn to N. Escario St., then to their destination.

If coming from North area, Route No 12L shall turn left to Gorordo Ave., turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., then to F. Ramos St., turn to Junquera St., then to P. del Rosario St., then to their point of origin. Route No. 06H shall go straight to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to F. Ramos St., to Junquera St., then to P. del Rosario St., proceed to N. Bacalso Ave., then to their point of origin.
