Police nabs pusher, 4 others

CEBU, Philippines -  Cebu City police arrested a suspected drug pusher and four others in a buy bust operation conducted by the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) and the City Anti- Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) at sitio Zapatera, Barangay Luz past 12 midnight yesterday.

Arrested were Alfredo Gegrimosa Jr, Lito Ventura, Victory Paul Sanchez, Edison Pamati-an, all residents of said barangay, and Alberto Villaflores, of sitio Kamagong, Barangay Lahug.

Gegrimosa was arrested when he sold one medium pack of shabu in exchange for P2,500 buy-bust money to a police poseur buyer.

Police recovered from Gegrimosa 49 small packs and four big packs of shabu, P2,500 buy-bust money and P6,000 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal activity.

Police also nabbed Ventura, Sanchez, Pamatia-an, and Villaflores who were caught in the act having three aluminum hand rolled tin foil used as an improvised tooter, one plastic used as water pipe, one aluminum tin foil strip used as funnel and two disposable lighters.

Police was able to recover from Ventura a home-made caliber .357 with five bullets.

Suspects are temporarily detained at the Cebu City Police Office lock-up cell while waiting for the appropriate charges to be filed against them.

Meanwhile seven moli-moli and three video karera machines were confiscated by CIB operatives in a separate operation in Units 2 and 3 in Carbon Market past 8:00 p.m. the other night.

CIB operatives found these machines abandoned in a makeshift house inside Carbon Market. (FREEMAN)
