CEBU, Philippines - Two siblings landed in the hospital yesterday dawn after they were stabbed, allegedly due to jealousy, in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.
Celestino Agusto, 35, and Teofilo Macheca, 24, half brothers and both natives of Surigao Del Sur were allegedly stabbed by Regan Recolcol, 26, a resident of Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City.
PO1 Reoful Adalim of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office narrated that Agusto and Macheca were reportedly drinking liquor with Angie Salomon, Recolcol's girlfriend, along with other residents living in a boarding house in Barangay Carreta.
Later on, Recolcol and his friend reportedly arrived and joined the drinking session.
A few minutes later, Recolcol allegedly stabbed Agusto and Macheca several times using a knife.
Adalim said that apparently there was no argument between Recolcol and the victims during the drinking session.
Although it was pointed out that two days prior to the incident, Recolcol and his girlfriend had a fight since Recolcol was allegedly jealous of Agusto.
Agusto and Salomon were reportedly close to each since both were staying in the same boarding house.
"Ang suspect ug si Salomon naa'y personal misunderstaning kumbaga, ang allegasyon tungod ni Celestino kay boardmate man ang biktima ug uyab sa suspect." Adalim further said.
Based on the investigation, Agusto sustained two stab wounds on his right arm and right chest while Macheca sustained three stab wounds on his right arm and right and left chest. They were immediately brought to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).
A hot pursuit operation was immediately conducted by the Mobile Patrol Group led by PO2 Jonathan Baquiler. But Recolcol was able to elude arrest and is still presently at large.— (FREEMAN)
