PIB’s 3rd most wanted killed in police operation
CEBU, Philippines - A suspected big time drug pusher and robbery suspect was gunned down by members of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) in an operation last Wednesday evening in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town.
SPO1 Reynaldo Solante of the PIB said they responded to a call of an armed man in the area and found out on-site already that it was Jorge Blanco, 30, a top three on PIB’s most wanted list that was reportedly seen carrying the gun.
Solante said they were about to introduce themselves as policemen as part of the protocol when Blanco drew out his .45 pistol.
“Layo pa tan-aw namo si Jeorge man gyud. Tinarung amo. Unya ni-aksyon na man ug bunot, gi-unahan na lang namo,†Solante said in a phone interview.
Blanco was rushed to the Eversley Child Sanitarium Hospital in Barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City but died a few minutes later due to multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body.
Seized from Blanco’s possession was his pistol with seven bullets, 50 grams of shabu worth P250,000 and a tooter.
The operatives have further forwarded the packs of shabu to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory-7 in Camp Sotero Cabahug, Cebu City for chemical analysis.
Blanco was reportedly a trustee of Bebot Pepito, an alleged drug lord ope-rating in the northern part of Metro Cebu. Blanco was reportedly involved in robberies before he allegedly shifted to dealing illegal drugs.
Blanco was able to escape during the anti-illegal drugs operation of the PIB in Barangay Tayud, Liloan last March wherein an alleged hitman, Richard Taco, was killed.
“Sinaligan ni siya (Blanco) sa mga koleksyon kay tigas-tigas lagi unya mao ma’y gusto sa mga drug lord,†Solante said.
The northern area of metro Cebu north is said to be operated by two drug groups who are fighting over territory and both have hit men who have been causing the series of shooting incidents in the area. (FREEMAN)
