Dejoras retained as CSBT head

The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - Governor Hilario Davide III has decided to retain the administrator of Cebu South Bus Terminal, Vicente Dejoras Jr., despite the petition of 169 stall holders, drivers, conductors, vendors, and bus operators for the replacement.

CSBT management and operations assistant officer Eddie Dusaban led some 20 stallholders at the Capitol yesterday in defense of Dejoras.

Dusaban denied the alleged abuses committed by Dejoras and by using vulgar language, shouting and for looking down others.

“Og unsa’y ila katuyoan tingale ila na gibuhat aron mataktak si sir Jun, pero para namo si sir Jun usa ka tawo mapahiubsanon,” Dusaban told reporters.

One of the stallholders, Mansueto Jugador, said that Dejoras has managed the terminal well and in accordance with the rules and policies.

“Ning-simpatiya ming sir Jun for now kay nalooy mi niya,” said another stallholder, Emma Robles.

Davide held a closed door meeting with the group led by Dusaban.

After the meeting, Davide told reporters that he keeps Dejoras at the CSBT after hearing the side of the group, thus no need for further investigation.

Davide was also informed that a certain Maricel Toledo, a stallholder, initiated the petition by asking her customers to sign without telling them what it is about.

Toledo is allegedly violating the contract when her stall is intended for foods but she is also selling other items.

“Ato ning warningan si Toledo ug ubang violators to follow strictly the terms of the contract,” Davide said.

Davide said decided Dejoras to stay after hearing that legitimate stallholders are satisfied of his management.

Dejoras refused to be interviewed. He did not also attend the close door meeting. — (FREEMAN)
